Written by Erica Rose Jackson This forty-third topic poses a slight challenge to me because I have to decide how real I want to be. If any of you lived with me, I wouldn’t be able to hide anything so it’s tough to give things up willingly. Ok, I’m acting as if there are some deep dark secrets I don’t want to share and, I promise, it’s not that exciting.
I suppose the first thing to know is that sometimes I get lost in my work. That work could be cleaning, writing, playing with the kids, or anything but I can get in the zone and have a hard time shifting gears. Hyper-focus is a real thing and I experience it when I’m really into what I’m doing or just passionate about it. So, be wary if you wanted me to do something else. This one might come as a surprise but I will cook almost every night. I’m not vocal about preparing meals because I have no particular passion for it, but I can cook and I do enjoy making people happy. I get it from my Mom and Mimi, that’s for sure. Sometimes I can sit in complete, comfortable silence while other times, I feel the need to fill the void with my chatter. This one is definitely the biggest complaint about myself I get. I am, also, a serious TV show binger so that’s something else to know. If you want to watch a show with me, you better keep up! PS: Sometimes, I just like to lay on the floor and decompress.

Written by Erica Jackson What a relief! I don’t have to write anything! I just have to, simply, show you what I do through the day in photos. Here goes nothing! My day is more complex than the six photos below but I don’t have time to take a picture every hour.
Written by Erica Rose Jackson I’m back! Week forty was a few weeks (months) ago so I’m just slightly off schedule, but it’s ok. There are just eleven left after this one and my challenge will be complete just not in the time frame I set out. Anyway, let me get back on topic. This week’s topic asks me to share an odd/useless talent. There was no specification on how many I have to share but I definitely have to do one. Here we go! So my odd/useless talent is that I can make the sound that the whale in Free Willy creates when he’s sad. If you’re around my age then you’ve probably seen the classic, early 90s film Free Willy and, if you’re like me, then you loved it. I also had a really big crush on Randolph (played by August Schellenberg) so I still watch the trilogy to this day. I literally wanted to be a whale trainer after I saw it even though that opinion has changed for many reasons. Maybe at the end of this challenge, I’ll film myself making the noise to share with everyone but until that day comes (or never does), enjoy the whale doing it. RIP Keiko. |
