Written by Erica Rose Jackson The Backstreet Boys are back with their ninth studio album and their first since 2013. ‘Don’t Go Breaking My Heart’ was the lead single off DNA and it paved the way for the amazing record to come. I’m here to tell y’all that the Boys did not disappoint. DNA is a fantastic album and their best since Black and Blue (I am a devoted fan and have all the albums). This album is not all pop hits you can dance to until the end of time, they bring the sentimental jams we love too. The Backstreet Boys reached deep for the tracks on DNA and it feels like an intimate journey as you listen to the songs. ‘Chances’ and ‘Don’t Go Breaking My Heart’ brought us in, but songs like ‘Breathe’, ‘Passionate’, and ‘No Place’ keep us there wrapped up in a Backstreet Boys paradise. Every track is great in its own way and they’ll all get stuck in your head in the best way possible. ‘Is It Just Me’ or is DNA going to be one of the best albums of 2019? DNA is poised to be a number one hit which is no surprise. The Backstreet Boys are launching a tour, which I will be attending (look forward to a review which I can not promise will be unbiased). I haven’t stopped listening to the album since it dropped and I have a physical copy on the way because The Backstreet Boys are taking us back to a better time!

I have about three hours every day to myself which I either use to clean, do laundry, watch some TV, write or a little bit of everything. Once I get to work, I’m there until ten thirty. It’s an awkward shift but I’m happy to have a job. After I get home, I do one or two things before I crash to start all over again. Sometimes I try to get some writing in when it’s slow at work, too. Don’t tell.
Quint was one of my very first crushes, at the tender age of seven. I have probably watched this movie, well over, a hundred times and it’s still as magical as the first viewing.
Jaws has an awesome soundtrack, one-liners that you can work into real life conversation, and the best three characters ever. Behind the scenes, Quint really hated Hooper and that played so well into their acting. I’ve always been team Quint, for obvious reasons. Robert Shaw helped write the USS Indianapolis speech and even tried to perform it genuinely drunk. Jaws created the Summer Blockbuster and spawned the shark movie genre. None of them will ever be as great as Jaws but I am, very much, here for all the attempts. Written by Erica Rose Jackson
What will I wear today? Last week, I managed to wear my Star Trek: Discovery shirt to work under my blazer which was definitely an awesome ootd. But today, I guess I need to get creative. I’ve thought about wearing my Belle dress from Beauty and the Beast with some leggings, but I’m not sure I could get away with it. What I choose will really be determined by how cold it is and how comfortable I want to be at work. I’ll most likely go with a dress and leggings..or a sweater and slacks (yes, I said slacks like I’m 70 years old). It doesn’t really matter what outfit I choose today because I can’t share it here, but I can share my sweet Star Trek shirt look! Enjoy that while I go root through my closet for something my co-workers haven’t seen before. And if that fails, I will be going with the comfiest business casual items I can find. Written by Erica Rose Jackson Ok, time to get back on track with these weekly blogs… It’s only Tuesday so, what’s the best thing that’s happened this week? I’d have to go with watching the new Netflix movie Polar. I am absolutely addicted to it. Mads Mikkelson is a badass! The movie starts out a little slow and there’s a dog scene I have to skip over, but once we start seeing Mads in action...it’s excellent. He kicks ass nude in the snow! The original week I was supposed to write this post for was Thanksgiving, though. So, in the spirit of reflection, the best thing that happened then was getting to be home with my family. We had a wonderful time and, of course, I got to go Black Friday shopping with my bestie! |
